The rest of the Smartboards are in and should be installed by the end of December. We are looking for Smarboard training to take place in January. Thanks for your patience!!
Keep in mind that one of our technology goals in our Tech Plan this year is to focus on Digital Citizenship. Please look for opportunities to discuss this topic with your children as it arises. Thanks for all of your hard work!!
Mr. Bill and I visited every room today to verify which projectors are in which rooms. It is important for inventory purposes that we always know where the equipment is.
IMPORTANT: If you are not ACTIVELY using your projector, PLEASE turn it off!!! Do NOT hit "hide" on your remote. When you do that, the bulb is still running. One bulb costs hundreds of dollars and we can't afford to constantly replace them. If you are NOT engaged with what you are projecting, please turn it off. IMPORTANT: You should clean out the filter of your projector every now and then. To do this, spray canned air towards the filters. Mr. Bill usually has some if you need to borrow it. Lots of times we shoot emails to SMSTEACHERS. Just make sure that you are aware that aides (Mrs. Bommarito, Mrs. Brown, etc...) won't get these emails! If it's something they need to read as well, please email it to SMSEMPLOYEES.
Don't forget to take the survey linked here: http://www.advanc-ed.org/survey/public/2155249 - Mr. Whitten would like to have 100% of teachers take the survey. Don't forget - you HAVE done long distance learning (remember that digital citizenship training you completed?). Also remember all students are receiving lessons on digital citizenship in their essentials classes!
So I successfully setup my voice mail today, but it is NOT as easy as it looks. They key is to follow the directions in the previous post and to not even listen to what the strange man on the phone is telling you to do. :)
I mentioned this before, but there's still some confusion: Your extension number is NOT the same as your voice mail number!!! If you need help, Kim and I have both set ours up and can help you during your planning - just let us know! Also I would give parents your VOICE MAIL number - NOT your extension number. You don't want them to be able to call in the middle of your class. If you have linked your MCSS webpage to some other off site link (Weebly, etc...), this post is for you. Debbie Brooks came by and gave us some "to-dos" for those of you who have an off site link so we are in compliance with MCSS guidelines.
IF you follow these guidelines, you will be considered compliant with MCCS guidelines and your website is good to go. Let's be real. These new phones are driving half of us crazy!! I learned some new information at our TIMS meeting that is going to be VERY beneficial:
